Winston-Salem, NC - May 25, 2010 - Fight fans get ready! Be there on Friday, June 18, 2010, at the Benton Convention Center in Winston-Salem at 8:00 p.m. as Ring of Dreams presents a night of combined MMA and pro boxing lined up to entertain and impress you. This exciting night of fighting features both mixed martial arts (MMA) and boxing in one venue. The cage and the ring will be side by side, with the MMA kicking off at 8 p.m., followed by an all pro boxing card.

Local favorite Derek "the Black Lion" Edwards, fresh from his national television debut on Showtime, will be on hand to meet fans. Home town fighter Carlette "the Truth" Ewell, just back from her international bouts in Guyana and Germany, will strut her stuff for the home crowd and defend her WUBC Champion status.

Smokin' Bert Cooper, who has faced off against boxing greats Evander Holyfield and George Foreman, will be in town to gain his first victory in a comeback bid, but Winston Salem's own Corey Whitfield isn't planning to let that happen, intending to seize victory for himself before the night is over.

In the boxing main event, Ring of Dreams fighter Earl "Chocolate Drop" Ladson will take on Kevin Johnson, a tough heavyweight from California who recently suffered his first professional defeat in 24 fights despite going 12 rounds with WBC Champion Vitali Klitschko. Ladson, a local favorite, intends to hand Johnson his second professional defeat, but it won't be easy.

In the cage, hometown favorite Jeff "The Red Neck" Tharington will fight to regain his self respect. Also returning to the cage are undefeated Syl Bynum , Larry Baron and David Olgoby all Team One fighters of Winston Salem. Other Scrap Live fighters will compete in 3 pro and 6 amateur bouts, each seeking to establish dominance in the march to the top of the MMA ranks.

Thrilling Combined MMA and Boxing Event Returns to Downtown Winston-Salem
Pro boxing ring and MMA cage will be side by side

Ring of Dreams and Scrap Live present Fight Night on Saturday, April 10th at 7 p.m. at the Benton Convention Center in downtown Winston-Salem. Following the huge success of the initial groundbreaking combined event, professional boxing and mixed martial arts (MMA) will again be offered side by side on the same night

Hometown pro boxing favorites will include Earl "Chocolate Drop" Ladson, Fred McClinton and Corey Winfield, as well as two women's bouts and our main event of the evening: Joell Godfrey (9-0), 2009 Cruiserweight contender contestant from Tennessee, versus undefeated Olympian Danny Kooji (6-0) who has 5 KO's and is a 2006 Olympic medal holder. Combined with the boxing is a full card of MMA, featuring local favorite Jeff "The Red Neck" Tharrington out of Clemmons and a host of other local and out of state MMA fighters. This full card of boxing and MMA in the same venue on the same night, using a cage and a ring, promises to be as popular as the sell-out first event earlier this year.

Mixed Martial Arts "Cage Fighting" and Professional Boxing - Two Great Events in One!!!

Fight Night fans are in for a fabulous rumble. Ring of Dreams, Scrap Live and The Dummit Law Firm, present "Fight Night" Saturday January 23rd, 2008, downtown at the Benton Convention Center in Winston-Salem at 7:00 p.m. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Fight Night will have six or more bouts of MMA and Boxing for your enjoyment. MMA fights will be held in the cage and boxing bouts will be held in the boxing ring. For the first time ever in the history of combat sports, a cage and a boxing ring will be set up in the same venue at the same time, making combat sports history here in Winston-Salem.

Headlining boxing will be Earl "Chocolate Drop" Ladson. Other fighters include Fred "The Beast" McClinton, Gary Lavender, new undefeated heavyweight Joe Hanks 10-0, local welterweight Jason Rorie and heavyweight Cory Winfield plus many more.

Headlining MMA will be the tough Jeff Tharington, putting his title on the line against an unbeaten Kasey Johnson. Other local MMA fighters on the card are Hugo Acerado, Gary Wingfield, Lonnie Price, James Nate Davis, Larry Baron and many more.

This exciting night of boxing features two Championship bouts for title belts. Derek Edwards vs Carl Daniel, Roberto Bulley White vs David Salisbury rematch for title belt. If you remember from the last meeting of the Heavy Weights for the title David Walked off victorious with the title belt, this time Roberto says it will change hands on Aug 29th No Doubt about it David Getting Knocked out this time.

Also on the card Local Favorite Fred McClington, Gary Lavander, Darrius Whitson, Jason Rorie and many more. This is one of the most exciting cards Ring Of Dreams has had in over a year since the last show.

The men will be rocking the house as well, with local favorite Corey Whitfield planning to continue to box his way to the top of the heavyweight division. New Boxing Talent Showcased in Downtown Winston Salem

Fight Night returns to Winston-Salem and promises to be as exciting as ever. Ring of Dreams will be showcasing new talent as well as familiar names on Saturday, October 17th at 7 p.m. at the Downtown Millennium Center at Liberty and Trade Streets in Winston Salem.

Crowd pleaser Derek "The Black Lion" Edwards (22-0) will be highlighted in a tough match against Brian "The Assassin" Norman (16-8) of Georgia. Norman's last 2 bouts have shown his hunger to take on tough opponents, and this is assured to be a great fight.

Also on the card, local favorite Earl "Chocolate Drop" Ladson will take on Derrik Walker of Georgia. Two newly signed cruiserweights with Ring of Dreams will also be on the card, one the up-and-coming Fred McClinton and the other Gary Lavender, who has appeared on ESPN twice and is shooting for the cruiserweight title. Returning from Kentucky is David Saulsberry (6-2), who will be taking on Winston-Salem's Roberto White (3-1). A host of other boxers from out of town will also be matched.

Fight Night Showcases Local Champion Derek "The Black Lion" Edwards

Winston-Salem's next Ring of Dreams Fight Night is Saturday, March 29, 2008, at 8:00 p.m. at Millennium Center. Come see Derek "The Black Lion" Edwards, who is garnering an increasing amount of national attention with his undefeated status rising to 21 wins. To prepare for this fight, he has been in intensive training for weeks in Jacksonville, FL. Derek is at the threshold of a huge breakthrough, so come out and see him while you can. His opponent will be the tough William Gill of New Jersey.

Also on the card is a heavyweight title fight between the undefeated Roberto White (3-0) and David Saulsberry (5-2), seen at previous Fight Nights. Both men will be taking a first shot at the UBC International belt. North Carolina female heavyweights Yolanda Fagan (2-0) of Wilson and Tiffany Woodard of Wilson will be battling it out in Woodard's debut. Several additional local favorites will be on the card, including Rodney Wallace (3-0). There will be at least 7 bouts on the card.

The official pre-event weigh-in will be at Dr. J's House of Soul Food, located at 1527 Martin Luther King Blvd., on March 28, between 5:30 and 8:00. All the fighters will be there.

A victory party will take place immediately following the fight, also at Dr. J's, with admittance at half price with your ticket stub. Get up close and personal with the boxers, and get their autographs. Live entertainment will be provided by well known jazz vocalist Cle Thompson.

Battle of the Heavyweights Comes to Downtown Winston Salem

Live weigh in and press conference November 16h at 6 p.m. at Dr. J's Restaurant, 1527 Martin Luther King Drive, Winston Salem.

Fight Night is back and better than ever. Ring of Dreams will be presenting the Battle of the Heavyweights on Saturday, November 17th at 7 p.m. at the Downtown Millennium Center at Liberty and Trade Streets in Winston Salem. This exciting new venue will put fans up close to the action. In addition to witnessing an impressive slate of heavyweights going toe to toe, fight fans will be treated to a mixed martial arts (MMA) showcase of talent.

Scheduled bouts include Derek "The Black Lion" Edwards (21-0) in the toughest fight of his career, as he takes on Antonio Baker (5-7) of North Carolina. Baker boasts a career as an Olympic amateur and the confidence of recently taking Jermain Taylor, holder of championships in three different divisions, to a decision after going the full distance. This challenging fight will bring Derek one step closer to a fight for the NABO championship belt in February.

Also on the card, local favorite Earl "Chocolate Drop" Ladson will take on Matt Green, and heavyweights Rodney Wallace (3-0) and Roberto White (2-0) will make their Ring of Dreams debut. Wallace will face off against Cory Whitfield, while White takes on Chris Vendola (3-0) of Florida. Local boxer Brian Harriston will go toe to toe with Joe Tony of Georgia.

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), the fastest growing sport in North America, will also be showcased at this Fight Night in an eagerly awaited return.

World ranked female fighters to face off in Winston Salem, and local Corey Whitfield will continue his quest for top bragging rights in the male heavyweight division.

This exciting night of boxing features three female bouts along with an impressive male lineup. In the headline event, local boxer and two time champion Carlette "The Truth" Ewell will take on the tough, undefeated heavyweight Yolanda Fagan in a quest for her third world title, this time in the super middleweight division. Ewell, who says she is at her prime fighting weight, now has her sights set on the UBC World Heavyweight title, which will be on the line for one of these fighters to claim.

World ranked boxer super middleweight Laura "Lady Ram" Ramsey is coming to town to put her talent on display as she takes on the undefeated Angela Simpson, and proven fan favorite Ijeoma Egbunine, who is returning to Winston Salem to take on undefeated heavyweight Akima Stocks of New York in a fight sure to bring fans to their feet.

The Fight is On in Winston Salem!

Undefeated Derek "The Black Lion" Edwards seeks to notch his 21st win. UBC Cruiserweight World Title on the line for Ewell.

Fight fans get ready! Ring of Dreams presents Fight Night Saturday, April 14, 2007, at the LJVM Coliseum Annex in Winston-Salem, North Carolina at 8:00 p.m. Undefeated Super Middleweight Derek "The Black Lion" Edwards (20 0 0) will square off against the also undefeated Joe Green (14 0 0) in a showdown that is sure to rock the house. Which man will walk away with a perfect record, and which will face his first loss?

In another match sure to ignite the room, Carlette "The Truth" Ewell will return to the ring on a mission to reclaim her title and #1 status in the world. Carlette will face off against Alexandra "Sweet and Sour" Maloy in a showdown for the vacant Universal Boxing Council (UBC) Cruiser weight world title. Previously, Carlette fought as a Super Middleweight, but she's added muscle and size and now seeks to dominate at the Cruiserweight level. This could be her breakout bout in this new weight class.

Fans will get to see all of their Ring of Dreams favorites, plus a pair of newcomers in their debut professional fight. Fan favorite Ijeoma "The Praise" Egbunine (12 2 0) of Marietta GA will take on Veronica Rucker (4 6 1) of Cleveland, OH, and new heavyweight Ryan McClure will challenge Corey Whittfield to see who will earn the first win of his professional career. Earl "Chocolate Drop" Ladson will be donning the gloves as well. Fans will be treated to a minimum of six fights on the Saturday night card.

Tickets go on sale March 1st, 2007, and are available the LJVM Coliseum Box office, Ticketmaster, and the Dummit Law Firm. Ijeoma Egbunine, the WBE World Super Middleweight Title Holder and the WIBF Light Heavyweight World Title Holder, will be taking on the well known Åsa Sandell of Sweden, right here in Winston-Salem, North Carolina! Ms. Sandell fought and lost to Laila Ali in Dec 2005, and now "The Swedish Sensation" wants a rematch. To do that, she will have to eliminate the others who also want a shot at Ali, including the talented Ms. Egbunine. This eagerly awaited bout will pit a power puncher (Egbunine) against a boxer (Sandell), always an exciting match to watch. But has the tall blonde taken on more than she can handle? We'll see on June 17th!

Fight fans get ready! Ring of Dreams presents Fight Night Saturday, February 18, 2006, at the LJVM Coliseum Annex in Winston-Salem, North Carolina at 8:00 p.m. Headlining the night will be Ijeoma "The Nigerian Nightmare" Egbunine versus Valerie "The Wolfe" Mahfood for the WIBF Light Heavyweight Title currently held by Mahfood. Mahfood is currently ranked 5th in the Light Heavyweight Division and is a veteran boxer with 31 total fights. She has fought Laila Ali, Kathy Rivers and Carlette Ewell, among others and gave Anne Wolfe (ranked #1 Super Middleweight) the only loss of her career. Egbunine is currently ranked 2nd in the Light Heavyweight Division although she has never fought Mahfood. She currently holds the WBE Super Middleweight and the WBE Light Heavyweight Title. Egbunine decisively TKO'd Carlette Ewell (ranked 7th) in the second round in Winston-Salem last November 5th, but does not have the experience of the veteran Mahfood. This promises to be Egbunine's toughest test and most exciting Main Event for Ring of Dreams yet!

Also on the card, two more female bouts featuring Alexandra Maloy vs. Brenda Drexel and Darnella Barnes vs. Donna Biggers in a rematch. Undefeated Derek "The Black Lion" Edwards (18-0) will be on the card looking for another win in the Light Heavyweight Division. Earl "Chocolate Drop" Ladson will fight in the Heavyweight Division. Robert "The Tank" Rommell, who is the top-ranked amateur in the Cruiserweight Class, will be making his professional debut.

Also, former Heavyweight World Champion Mitch Green will fight on the card. In addition, we plan to have an action-packed Bout Card that will include two female fights. One bout will feature Carlette "The Truth" Ewell. The second female bout will be Ijeoma Egbunine of South Africa and more recently, Atlanta, Georgia, fighting for the vacant WBE Middleweight Title against Alexandria Malloy of Florida. Our well-known local male fighters will be thrilling us again. Earl "Chocolate Drop" Ladson will be up against Eric Starr of North Carolina. We have had a great demand from individuals who wish to purchase tables for the upcoming fight. Therefore, we are opening up limited table purchases for the August 13th fight. Normally, these tables are open only to businesses for sponsorship opportunities. However, we will begin to pre-sell tables to individuals on July 15. These VIP Tables are $500.00 and seat 8 people. As you know, table seating is in the VIP Area and admission to that area is not allowed without a VIP Pass. The tables will include complimentary food trays and all tables offer personal cocktail staff. If you are interested in purchasing a table for a group of 8, we ask that you contact Ring of Dreams at (336) 201-0081. Also on the card, Carlette "The Truth" Ewell (8-3-0, 6KO) of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, faced Ramona Crim, of Covington, Kentucky, in a bid for the WBE light heavyweight world title.

The WBE middleweight world title was also on the line, with Bonnie Mann (8-7-0, 3KOs) of Raleigh, North Carolina, squaring off against Carrie Flock (5-2-0, 3KOs), of Charlotte, North Carolina. With such close records, this was an exciting match up.

With a total of eight fights on the card, set for 4 to 8 rounds each, this was a thrilling event.
